Introduction | International Trends for Online Marketing

Last week, Leads.Internationals’ own, international marketing specialist Elle Schoenmakers, gave Dutch entepreneurs seeking to set foot on international grounds insight into relevant new trends in online and international marketing at the Koning Willem II Stadion in Tilburg. The presentation hosted by the Kamer van Koophandel gave approximately 50 guest the chance to learn more about the dynamic developments in international online marketing, digital trends and practical tips for their own businesses.

The digital world has never been changing at a faster pace. Every minute, more than 70 new domains are registered  694,445 search queries are carried out and over 13,000 Iphone apps are downloaded. Every single minute. And that is only taking rather superficial changes into account. Looking back over the past 20 years, things have become possible, that only few would have dared to dream of a couple of years ago. After all, the times when bulky Nokia phones (which could easily be used for self defense, if needed) were an absolute novelty are actually not so long ago.

Nowadays, 80% of the Dutch surveyed in the Google Consumerbarometer report to use a smartphone – and the numbers are still increasing! However, the rapid increase of mobile devices is only one of the fascinating new trends that dominate and shape the online (and therefore) marketing world and consumer behaviour. In fact, the field of online marketing has never been as dynamic and interesting, as it is now. Video advertising, mobile, social media, digital assistants, marketplaces and  the issues surrounding privacy concerns are more importnat than ever before. What will the future bring?

That is exactly what we want to explore in the following series ‘International Trends for Online Marketing’ – Which new developments should you look out for? Which platforms are on the rise? How can you effectively use video marketing? And what is the deal with #verticalvideos anyway?
